September 15th from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Dear Choir members and UCW members,
We would like to invite you to a “Let’s Make Music Night” at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, September 15, at the home of Diane Tillotson.
The evening will start with a light supper and beverages from 6:30-7:30 PM,
followed by a sing-a-long/introduction to fall music ministry from 7:30-9:00 PM. There will be time to discuss upcoming events, fall and Christmas plans, and our rehearsal schedule.
A few of the pieces that we will sing include “The Sabbath Prayer” from “Fiddler on the Roof” and a lively arrangement of “Rock-a-my Soul in the Bosom of Abraham”. You will be invited to suggest hymns and music that you would like to have included in the upcoming church year.
We look forward to introducing our new soprano section leader/musical assistant Bethany Worrell to you. Bethany is a very accomplished soprano in the Boston area who has won many awards, including the MetroWest Opera Vocal Competition, and is presently the soprano artist-in-residence of the Metropolitan Chorale of Brookline. She also has an extensive background in sacred music. We look forward both to her leading the choir and inspiring the congregation through her beautiful voice. Through her ministry she would like to encourage deeper participation by the congregation in the music of the worship service.
