Youth

The Youth Ministry of the Union Church in Waban is a fully welcoming and inclusive community that sees all young people as beloved children of God who can live out God’s love in the world. In our ministry, young people are invited to:

  • Develop authentic relationships with other youth, caring adults, and God
  • Embark on a spiritual journey grounded in the life, teachings, and community of Jesus Christ
  • Explore how their gifts and questions can contribute to the life of the church and the flourishing of all creation
  • Participate in meaningful service and joyful mission as part of this community of faith

Middle and High School Youth Groups gather online or in-person each month to connect and support one another, relax, share stories and discussions of faith, and have fun. Favorite trips include visits to places like Treetop Adventures and the Unity Farm Sanctuary.

Once a month, youth groups also participate in meaningful service opportunities, such as our Community Thanksgiving Dinner; Mitten Tree; helping our elders; serving lunch and worshipping with Common Cathedral in downtown Boston, and more.

High School Youth Group Service-Learning Trips: High-schoolers (9-12th grade) participate in overnight and week-long service trips throughout the year. Our partners include: CityReach in Boston, Deep Roots at Clairvaux Farms in Maryland, the Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries in Hell’s Kitchen, NY, and the Appalachia Service Project in Kentucky.
