At present, our elevator remains out of order; if you need help getting into the church on Sunday morning or during the week, please call and let the pastors know ahead of time, or call the number on the signs on the elevator lobby door on Sunday morning. Thank you to Tom Humphrey for working with our elevator service contractor to try to resolve this issue; we will keep the community updated on progress as more news is available.

Hola from Nicaragua!
An Update from Our Travelers
The Union Church has been busy in Nicaragua this past week visiting with current and former students who have received scholarships from the Church or their membership.
There has been painting and rehabbing of a school in a wonderful barrio with lots of love and hope for the future of their children by the patents and the teachers and us !!
There has been great work on the eco-stove program in the lovely barrio of Cebadilla where we have worked in the past and had helped provide water to their school. The program is led locally by one of the Church sponsorship students named Jordan Marin. You will see a few pictures from the eco stove program below.
This is only a preview. We hope you join us on Sunday March 2 where the Nicaragua travelers will lead the service. You will hear stories and learn more deeply about some of our friends and some of the work. Until then, adios !

Prayer Chain for Soo Laski

Prayer Chain for Soo Laski's Kidney Transplant
Feb 25 - 26
The Schedule and Sign-up can be found HERE
Pray leading up to and throughout the day (Feb. 25 -26) for Soo Laski's kidney transplant, her sister and donor Anna, their medical teams, and their family. The times are approximate based on info Soo has received so far, and the suggestions for prayer are intended to be guidance. Pray however the Spirit leads you! We suggest setting an alarm for the start of your time slot, and marking the time by lighting a candle, playing a meaningful song at the beginning and end, or something similar.
Thank you for volunteering to be part of this prayer chain! We know it means so much to Soo, Anna, and their family to know they are being held in prayer all throughout the day.
Loving God, hear the prayers of your people gathered in this community.
- We pray for Soo Laski, for her sister Anna, and for the whole Laski-Zollers family this week as they prepare for Soo’s kidney transplant surgery on Wednesday. We pray for a successful surgery with no complications for Soo and Anna, and for quick and complete healing for them both. God, bless their medical teams, and work your miracles of healing through the hands of surgeons, nurses, and all medical staff.
- We pray for the members of our congregation bearing witness friends and partners in Nicaragua this week. May they find joy and meaningful connection, and travel home safely.
- We continue to pray for healing for Jean Wellington following recent surgery and for Betty O’Beirne as she recovers from pneumonia. God, bless Jean and Betty so that they both may heal and know your comfort and care as they do.
- We pray for all who are sleeping rough in the face of cold and wet weather this winter. Empower our political leaders and community organizations to address the needs for shelter with creativity and passion, so that all who are in need can have a safe place to rest.
- For all in our UCW community who are ill, or who are caring for loved ones. For all who grieve, God, we ask for the comfort of your presence, especially in this tender season.
- We pray for peace for your people all throughout the world. Teach us to beat our swords into plowshares, O God, and to sow wisdom and reap peace, justice, and joy.
We pray to you, grateful for your accompaniment with us in all things. Amen.

Sharing the Stories of Our Faith
Reading Scripture in Worship
For generations the stories and wisdom of our faith were only shared orally, and reading scripture out loud is still a central part of our worship and community. Please consider sharing your voice in worship this fall.
