*Celebrating our Graduates

As our regular church year draws to a close, we look towards the summer, when we are usually one Body scattered to many locations. Whether we are traveling, visiting with family, focused on different schedules with children, or simply living at the slower pace of the summer months, we see less of one another. It can seem like church is “off” for the summer as well.
There will, though, be many ways we can stay connected with one another throughout the summer. There will be summer worship led by lay members of the congregation (though not on the first Sunday of the month!), opportunities to gather with our neighbors in both worship and service, social gatherings in-person and online, which we’ll send a calendar out for soon, and more.
Even if you cannot or choose not to attend any of these, though, we will remain connected. As the apostle Paul writes, nothing – not heights nor depths, things present nor things to come – can separate us from the love of God. And in that love, we are one, even across distance.

Loving God, hear the prayers of your people gathered in this community.
- We pray for the joy and learning of our Puerto Rico Youth Mission team, and for their safe and smooth travels home tomorrow.
- We pray for the whole UCW community and for Pastor Amy as we look toward a season of goodbyes. Bless our time together these next few months, and bless Amy as she prepares to bring her incredible gifts for ministry to a new setting.
- We pray for transgender youth and their loved ones throughout the country, that even as their rights and supports are under attack, they might know their deep value and belovedness in the eyes of God.
- This summer, we pray for our unhoused siblings who are on the streets in the daytime or sleeping rough, exposed to the heat and sun. May all who are in need find shelter and relief.
- We pray for victims of violence and hate in our country and throughout the world. For those who are targeted for their race, religion, sexuality, gender, immigration status (true or perceived), political affiliation, and so much more, we pray, O God, for your healing and compassionate care. For all who grieve, God, we pray for comfort and for justice.
- We pray for all those within our community who are celebrating graduations: high school and college seniors, graduate students, and their teachers, families, and loved ones. In this season of transitions, God, we ask that you would bless and strengthen them for all that is to come, and give them hearts full of joy and celebration at what has already been.
- For all in our UCW community who are ill, or who are caring for loved ones. For all who grieve, God, we ask for the comfort of your presence, especially in this tender season.
- We pray for peace for your people all throughout the world. Teach us to beat our swords into plowshares, O God, and to sow wisdom and reap peace, justice, and joy.
We pray to you, grateful for your accompaniment with us in all things. Amen.

Volunteer Opportunity with FamilyAid
Thursday, July 3rd and August 14th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
We still need volunteers!
We've been sharing lots of information about our developing partnership with FamilyAid throughout this year, and so many of you contributed to the MOUNTAIN of diapers we were able to drop off after our drive (Helen for scale in photo!).
Now, if you'd like a chance to meet our new neighbors in a fun, relaxed setting, you can. UCW will be hosting two "Sweet Summer Thursdays" at FamilyAid, with popsicles/ice cream, games, bubbles, chalk, and crafts for the kids and moms at the Family Navigation Center in West Newton.
The dates are July 3rd and August 14th, 5:00-7:00 p.m., and we still need volunteers! We can only take adult volunteers for these events, and all volunteers will need to agree to a CORI check run by FamilyAid.
If you'd like to join, let Pastor Megan know (ASAP for next week; anytime in July for the August date).

Sharing the Stories of Our Faith
Reading Scripture in Worship
For generations the stories and wisdom of our faith were only shared orally, and reading scripture out loud is still a central part of our worship and community. Please consider sharing your voice in worship this spring.
