Prayers of the People

Loving God, hear the prayers
of your people gathered in this community.

  • We pray for the Hadley family and all who grieve the death of Bill Price. Welcome Bill into the embrace of your loving arms, O God, and give comfort to those who mourn.
  • Prayers for all in our community who are traveling throughout the summer. May your living Spirit connect us while we are apart.
  • We pray for the most vulnerable among us, those who are elderly, disabled, or living in poverty, whose health and wellbeing are at risk as politicians place profits for the most wealthy above meeting the basic needs of vulnerable people. Give strength, wisdom, and courage to those in power and to all of us.
  • We pray for the whole UCW community and for Pastor Amy as we enter a season of goodbyes. Bless our time together these next few months, and bless Amy as she prepares to bring her incredible gifts for ministry to a new setting.
  • For all in our UCW community who are ill, or who are caring for loved ones. For all who grieve, God, we ask for the comfort of your presence, especially in this tender season.
  • We pray for peace for your people all throughout the world. Teach us to beat our swords into plowshares, O God, and to sow wisdom and reap peace, justice, and joy.
We pray to you, grateful for your accompaniment with us in all things. Amen.
If you have other prayers of concern or celebration you
would like lifted up in community, please email
Pastor Megan at [email protected].

They are looking for four volunteers to help sort, fold, and pack bags of supplies from Cradles to Crayons for children whose families are in need. This event will take place on Tuesday, July 22, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at the West Newton Family Navigation Center. A CORI is required for all volunteers, and teenage volunteers are welcome for this event.
