Breakfast Church & Farewell to Pastor Amy
Sunday, August 17th
We'll share a final worship service with Pastor Amy, and celebrate our shared ministry with her on this Sunday morning.
Per her request, our worship will be an interactive, intergenerational service around shared tables in our Vestry (gym) that will include snacks and drinks in a "Breakfast-Church" style of worship. Bring your appetites!

Please Be Alert: On-going Email Scam
Please be alert to an ongoing email scam. We have heard from a number of you that you received an email purporting to be from Pastor Megan asking "to discuss something with you" followed by a request for for assistance. When you click on the sender, it reveals a fake, non-ucw.org address, using Pastor Megan's name.
As a reminder, with any email you receive it is always good to confirm the correct sending address. As a reminder, Pastor Amy and Pastor Megan will NEVER send you a request for immediate attention, gift cards, or money. An email like that should always look suspicious to you.
Thank you to those who brought this to our attention!

Tech Team Volunteers Needed
THIS SUNDAY - Orientation Session - Sun. Aug. 17th at 9:15 a.m
The tech team is responsible for streaming our regular Sunday worship service over Zoom, so people can participate from the comfort of their home. We are still looking for new people to join this group.
No IT experience required, although of course being comfortable with a computer and Zoom meetings is very helpful. We are having a training / orientation session on Sunday August 17th, prior to worship (9:15am). If you are interested in joining us, please let me know. Jaap van Reijendam ([email protected])

Loving God, hear the prayers of your people gathered in this community.
- We pray for Pastor Megan and her wife Leila as they move into their new home, and as Pastor Megan recovers from surgery. May your healing, rest, and peace surround them.
- We pray for the whole UCW community and for Pastor Amy as we enter a season of goodbyes. Bless our time together this week, and bless Amy as she prepares to bring her gifts for ministry to a new setting.
- We pray for the Bassett family and for all who are remembering and missing Anya in this season. May Anya's light continue to shine in and through us, and my your peace and comfort be with all who grieve.
- Prayers for all in our community who are traveling throughout the summer. May your living Spirit connect us while we are apart.
- We pray for the most vulnerable among us, those who are elderly, disabled, undocumented, or living in poverty, whose health, security, and wellbeing are at risk as politicians place profits for the most wealthy above meeting the basic needs of vulnerable people. Give strength, wisdom, and courage to those in power and to all of us.
- For all in our UCW community who are ill, or who are caring for loved ones. For all who grieve, God, we ask for the comfort of your presence, especially in this tender season.
- We pray for peace for your people all throughout the world. Teach us to beat our swords into plowshares, O God, and to sow wisdom and reap peace, justice, and joy.
We pray to you, grateful for your accompaniment with us in all things. Amen.
