Family Worship – Forest Church

November 1, 2020 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Kids and their Grown-ups are  invited to gather two afternoons a month in the greenspace in front of the church (surrounded by Collins Rd.) for a masked, distanced, in-person service.   We’ll then wonder and wander (e.g to the wooded path between Waban Ave.).  The worship service will be less than an hour, and include time to share our Bible story for the week, encounter God in creation, pray for one another, and create something together.  Unless the weather is truly dangerous, we’ll follow the saying, “There’s no bad weather, only the wrong clothing.”  We’ll find Jesus as living water in the rain; and snow angels in the cold!  We’ll be drawing inspiration and support from the Muddy Church movement in the UK.  For more information on that movement from Pastor Amy’s new colleague Lucie Hutson of the Midlands Institute  for Children, Youth and Mission, you can CLICK HERE for a video, and HERE for an article if you are online, or go to the website.

  • Middle School Families – Please note that the Middle School Youth group will include a shorter Forest-Church-like service just prior to our monthly Youth Group gathering specifically for Middle School families. MS parents are then invited to stay through youth group to connect.
  • High School Families – Both High School Youth Groups (9th and Exploring Our Faith) will generally meet directly following Forest Church on the 1st or 3rd Sunday.  Feel free to come early and participate in Forest Church as a family, and then (parents) stick around during youth group to connect.
