Church Matters
|
Thank you to everyone who gave a pledge to Union Church in Waban during our Stewardship Campaign this Spring. Your commitments have raised our spirits even more and reminded us again what a vital and committed congregation we have. Many thanks!
Everyone who helped showcase our congregation at the annual Waban Village Day. Many children stopped at our booth. We are grateful to the volunteers who helped inform our community about the Union Church in Waban and all the good work we are doing. Thank you all who helped.
|
Diane Tillotson, Kent Wittler and David Burgess for their work on establishing a new lease with our tenant Riverside Community Center. Their work has helped to insure that we are supporting Riverside and sharing resources and expenses in a mutually beneficial way. Thank you, Diane, Kent and David!

Loving God, hear the prayers
|
of your people gathered in this community.
|
- This graduation season, we pray for all of the graduates in our community as they celebrate these threshold moments and plan for what lies ahead. We pray in gratitude for their parents, teachers, loved ones, and other supports who have helped them to this moment of achievement.
- We pray for an end to war, an end to violence, an end to the harms of Empire that we see in our scriptures and in our world.
- For all in our UCW community who are ill, or who are caring for loved ones. For all who grieve, God, we ask for the comfort of your presence.
- We pray for peace for your people all throughout the world. Teach us to beat our swords into plowshares, O God, and to sow wisdom and reap peace, justice, and joy.
|
We pray to you, grateful for your accompaniment with us in all things. Amen.

On behalf of Council and HR, I am delighted to share the news that Katie Brown-Bright, Bridge Associate for Children, Youth, and Families, will be returning to serve among us for the coming church year! Katie has enriched the faith lives of our children, families, and all of us through her leadership in worship, Sunday school, youth programs, and more. She has already begun brainstorming and planning for the fall. If you are excited about supporting children, youth, families, and intergenerational life at UCW, I hope you’ll reach out to me, to Katie, and maybe even to Nominating about ways to support, including joining the CY&F committee for the coming year.

Reading Scripture in Worship
Sharing the Stories of Our Faith
Scripture Reader Sign-up: HERE
|

For generations the stories and wisdom of our faith were only shared orally, and reading scripture out loud is still a central part of our worship and community. Please consider sharing your voice in worship this fall.
