December 11 Update

 

We invite you to worship with us this Sunday, December 13, The Third Sunday of Advent and our Festival of Lights. The preacher is The Rev. Rob Asinger, his sermon titled "Joy’s Light." The choir will sing "Canticle of the Turning," a Traditional Irish tune. Cate Brown will process as Sankta Lucia and we will light the Menorah Candles. The Tuozzolo Family will also light the third Advent Candle.  We will offer the shared Heart Exhibit and scripture study following worship this Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

THE NEXT MISSION COMMITTEE MEETING will be held on Tuesday,  December 15 at 7:30 p.m.
 
THERE WILL BE A NICA MEETING on Tuesday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m.
 
MITTEN TREE GIFTS: There are a few mittens left on the Mitten Tree. ALL gifts due next Sunday, Dec. 20. Not a shopper? This year you can also pick a green mitten and give a monetary donation for the food pantry in Dorchester. Or take both! Please let Sandy Nelson or Nancy Zollers know whose mitten you took and thank you for participating.
 
NEXT SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20 is the Fourth Sunday of Advent and we will celebrate our Christmas Sunday service at 10:00 a.m.
 
CHRISTMAS EVE service will be on Thursday evening, December 24 at 7:00 p.m. We hope you can attend and will enjoy the children’s Manger Tableau.
 
CHRISTMAS OFFERING: This year our Christmas Offering will support our mission trip to Nicaragua. Please make checks payable to Union Church, and note it is for the Christmas Collection. You may place it on the offering plate or mail to the office at 14 Collins Road, Waban, MA  02468.
 
Please note: Checks received that are not marked for the Christmas Collection will be credited to your Stewardship pledge.
