Updates from The Union Church for September 16

   Please check the preliminary copies available and make any changes or

   updates to your information. You need only correct one copy.

 

Children’s Choir begins practice today after Sunday School.

 

The Zambia Task Force will meet today at 11:30 a.m.

 

Bible study continues each Sunday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. in Stacy’s study.  We will begin the year reading through the Gospel of Luke.  All are welcome.  No previous theological study or Biblical literacy is needed.  Just come with an open heart and curious mind. 

Coffee and tea are provided.

 

Living Waters Prayer Group will begin on Monday, September 19 at 7:30 – 8:15 a.m. in the Nativity Chapel.  All are welcome to join in this time of silence, prayer, and reflection.

 

If you are interested in Bible study and/or prayer group but early mornings just do not work for you, please let Stacy know ([email protected]) and we can explore weekday evening offerings.

 

The Disciples Bible Class will meet on Monday, September 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

There will be a meeting of the WOW Committee on Tuesday, September 20, at 7:00 p.m.

 

The Music Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. on September 22.

 

The Choir will resume Thursday evening rehearsals on September 22 at 7:30 p.m.

 

The Men’s Group will hold its first meeting on Friday morning, September 23 at 7:00 a.m. Come for breakfast.

 

Book Group begins on Wednesday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. The Help will be discussed.

 

Clothing Drive for Cradles to Crayons (C2C).  Leading up to our service day at C2C on September 29, we are sponsoring a ‘ready for school’ clothing drive. C2C’s clothing donations are lowest at this time of year when needy families are most in need of school clothes.  So please bring in your new and gently used (no rips or stains) clothing in sizes 0-20.  Shoes accepted too.  Or buy some new underwear and socks to contribute.  A donation box is located at church through September 28. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for 10:00 a.m.–noon on September 29 for our morning at C2C. Mark your calendars for apple picking for the Newton Food Pantry. On Thursday, October 6, we’ll leave Newton at 12:30 p.m. to go to Nagog Hill Orchard in Littleton. This is an early release day for the Newton schools. Let Kathy know if you plan to come.

We should have rides available even for kids who come without parents.
