Updates for Friday, April 13, 2012

Living Waters Prayer Group will meet Monday, April 16 at 7:30 a.m. in the side chapel.

Bible Study continues with the Book of Acts, learning about how the Jesus movement came together after the resurrection of Jesus, and through their commitment and compassion became the church that we inherit and live into today. Come join us. Don’t worry if you don’t know much about the Bible or that you have lots of questions about what you believe and understand. That’s the point of us gathering – to learn and grow together. So come with your questions and come with your hunger to grow in faith just like our ancestors of so long ago. Bible study meets on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in Stacy’s study with coffee and lots of curiosity.

ReNew: the ‘Green’ Camp at UCW happens June 18-22 from 9:00 a.m. – noon. All kids currently finishing K-5th grades are invited. Invite your friends too. Go here for registration forms, and here for a brochure. Also look for forms in the Crocker Chapel.

Special Council meeting on April 28th from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon. Committee chairs or members are particularly encouraged to attend, but all are welcomed to come and hear about how each committee envisions adding to our life together over the next 3 to 5 years, and specifically what the committees plan for the year ahead. We will meet in the reception room.

The special Nicaragua worship service will be held on April 29.

Stacy will be on vacation beginning Monday, April 16th and returning to church on Tuesday morning April 24th. Kent Wittler is the deacon of the month and can be contacted for urgent pastoral care matters. The office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, April 16 and 17.

Note from HR Committee: The HR Committee will begin the annual review process regarding our church staff and pastor. We will be looking for feedback from Church Council, Church Committees, and congregants regarding various aspects of our church life and in particular, the ways in which our staff support and contribute thereto. It is the Committee’s plan to complete the review process in advance of our annual meeting in the beginning of June. Should you have any questions or comments, please be in touch with Lara Gund, Karen Weisberger, or Tom Vawter.

A church-wide clean up is planned for the afternoon of Sunday, April 29th, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Come for an hour, or the whole afternoon!
