Updates for October 12, 2012

Jane Mirandette

News from Nica: We are please to welcome our long time friend Jane Mirandettewho, a decade ago, created the first stationary public lending library in all of Nicaragua. She followed this amazing milestone by creating a mobile book library which serves an even wider geographic reach then the local San Juan Del Sur Branch. Many of these kids in rural communities may never have the opportunity to read a book for pleasure, if not for the vision and great work of Jane and others. Many Union Church travelers have had the terrific pleasure of volunteering with the mobile book library. (An experience you should not miss when you travel to San Juan Del Sur)
