November 16, 2012 updates

Our Holiday Greens Sale is here!

Please leave completed forms in the mailbox on the office door or email to [email protected]. Our Holiday Greens Sale supports all our work in Newton’s sister city of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Donate some greens to decorate the church! Deadline for orders is Sunday Nov 25th. Pick up will be on Friday, November 30th from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, December 1st from 9-11 a.m., and Sunday December 2nd after church. Go to greens order form to make your selections.

The Children’s Choir will be rehearsing after worship on Sunday.

The weekly meditation workshop continues with two more sessions. Each session is a stand-alone, and there’s no need to have been at the others. Any degree of experience — from none to decades — is great. If you have any questions, please contact Kathryn Henderson at [email protected]. We hope to see you there!

Sunday, after worship, we will meet in the Reception Room. Following a brief introduction to walking a labyrinth, we will go to Boston College to walk their outdoor labyrinth.

Saturday, December 1, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.: forms of chanting, including praying the Psalms and Taize chant.

Each week Kathryn has suggested some meditation practices that can fit into a busy day. Read her Meditation Moments.

The Stewardship Committee will meet on Tuesday morning, November 20 at 8:00 a.m.

Prayer Group will meet on Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Next Sunday, November 25, and the following Sunday, December 2, we will be holding our Alternative Gift Fair featuring handcrafts, photo note cards, Equal Exchange coffee and hot chocolate and other gifts. Also, we’ll be having our Advent wreath making activity. We’ll have all the supplies for making Advent Wreaths with real greens. Suggested donation is $20. We’ll also have stations with other Christmas crafts. Plan to stay after worship to enjoy these fun events and get ready for the Advent season.
