Updates for January 25, 2013

Sing a Simple Song! Please come join us for our “pickup choir” this Sunday, January 27th. We will meet in the sanctuary for a brief rehearsal at 9:00 a.m. This Sunday we will be singing a “Partner Song” for the Offertory Anthem. Partner songs are ideal for developing independent two part singing. First a simple melody is sung, then the second, and finally they partner, creating beautiful harmony. It’s quite easy, and lots of fun. The arrangement we will learn this Sunday is by Jean Ann Shafferman, and combines two traditional spirituals, “Peace Like a River” and “Kum Ba Yah”. Most likely you know these simple melodies already, so this piece will be very easy for you to learn. Come and sing with us—you will enjoy it!
