On this Sunday Guest Preacher Matt Carriker will preach and lead worship as both Pastors Amy and Wendy will be away. Rev. Matt, Pastor of Agape Spiritual Community in Weston, is well known to UCW and we are grateful to add his voice in worship on this day. We will also celebrate communion.
Reverend Carriker is an ordained United Church of Christ pastor at a new UCC church in Waltham called Agape Spiritual Community. Matt finds joy in leading mindfulness and contemplative practices opportunities in the wider Waltham community and in the church at large. Through the Southern New England Conference UCC, Matt co-facilitates confirmation and youth retreats, as well as adult spiritual formation retreats. Matt is passionate about altering Christianity today into a spiritual tradition that models the unconditional love of God and the life and teachings of Jesus. The title of his upcoming book is “Giving Christianity Back to Agape Love.”
